Roger then confessed that he was afraid, at a certain point in his career, that Nadal might retire before him.

“I was worried that Nadal might quit before me. There were signs that Rafa was unwell and that he wouldn’t last that long. I didn’t think I could play beyond the age of 37 or 38, and the same goes for him, but then he finds himself in a place where he starts to feel better. But yes, I was worried that Rafa might leave and, in fact, I thought that he would leave after beating Medvedev, in the 2022 Australian Open final.  thought maybe he would do it there or at Roland Garros. I hope that Andy, like Novak and Rafa, can continue to play tennis forever. As a fan and enthusiast, I think so.
