Jeep Wrangler is twice as wide at a great price

This isn’t your average modified Wrangler – the double-wide Jeep Wrangler has two doors and eight seats, and it actually drives.

What could possibly be better than a stock Jeep Wrangler?

A double-wide Jeep Wrangler, of course.

As crazy as it sounds, there’s actually one in existence.Double-wide Jeep Wrangler

There’s no shortage of modified Jeep Wranglers out there.

In fact, the modified Wrangler scene is thriving, with owners doing all sorts of weird and wonderful things to their Jeeps.

This is the first we’ve heard of a double-wide Jeep Wrangler, thoughDouble-wide Jeep Wrangler

Like many other Wranglers it has two doors but this difference is, this one seats eight pᴀssengers.

The showpiece is kept at the Morocco National 4×4 Auto Museum in Merzouga.

It’s not just a museum piece, though, it can actually drive.

Proof is on YouTube, where a video posted in 2013 shows the double-wide Jeep Wrangler driving along taking up a lane and a half, as other drivers pᴀss understandably puzzled.Double-wide Jeep Wrangler

That appears to be the only evidence showing it out on the open road.

To really understand what it’s all about, we have to rely upon pictures that have been posted over the years.

They show it has double the axles, double the shocks, and more than double the slots on the grille.

Underneath, the double-wide Jeep Wrangler has a cage where the inside wheels would normally go, and mounted suspension components, presumably for stability.Double-wide Jeep Wrangler

Although it’s two cars that have been joined together, it only has the one steering wheel, which is mounted way over on the left side.

What would have been really cool would be if they’d joined left- and right-hand drive models together, so it had two steering wheels.

We’re not entirely sure what’s under the hood, as that info isn’t readily available.

While there’s a possibility it uses two engines, it’s more likely to have the one V6 – either a 3.6-liter or 3.8-liter, depending on the model.
