Serena Williams Rocks Pinstripe Vest on “Stephen Colbert” and Discusses Her New Documentary Series “In the Arena: Serena Williams’”

Serena Williams embraced the vest trend and put her own spin on the look during her appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday. The Wyn Beauty founder chatted with the eponymous host about her forthcoming documentary series “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” which chronicles behind-the-scenes moments from the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s tennis career.

For her late-night talk show appearance, Williams fashioned a playful twist on summer suiting and styled the vest trend some celebrities fashioned as of late. The look featured a cream base with faint gray stripes on the vest and shorts of the matching set.

Williams’ vest also featured a prominent collar and lapel, with the addition of dazzling brooches and a glittering chain connecting the center of her vest to a side pocket. Along with the matching set, Williams wore a pair of pointed toe black heels with a strappy element.

As for her glam, Williams’ long auburn tresses were styled with waves that cascaded down her shoulders. Her makeup featured a glossy lip and a standout smokey eye.

Williams’ appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” comes days before the premiere of her forthcoming documentary series “In the Arena: Serena Williams.” The 23-time Grand Slam champion and four-time Olympic gold medalist opened up about the series and what viewers can expect from this intimate look at her career.

“This is [about] moments behind some of those amazing Grand Slam wins. So that’s what ‘Serena: In the Arena’ is all about,” she said. Williams made the announcement that she was “evolving” from tennis in September 2022. Her final professional tennis match came at the U.S. Open that same month.

Since stepping away from tennis, Williams’ focus shifted to her own ventures and businesses. Last April, the tennis champion launched her own makeup line, Wyn Beauty, which nods to Williams’ tennis career. “Our chartreuse pays homage to the tennis ball, which kind of pays homage to championships, which pays homage to the idea of winning,” Williams told WWD’s Beauty Inc in April.

“For years I would travel to countries that didn’t have products that were made for me, but I still had to show up to press, to events and I had to look decent,” Williams said. Wyn Beauty keeps inclusivity and reliability front-of-mind, with an emphasis on essential makeup pieces. “It’s those 10 items where, if you were were on ‘Survivor’ and could only have 10 things in your makeup kit and you still want to look good because you’re going to be on camera — this is that.”
