Despite growing criticism of Patrick Mahomes over recent weeks and months for his and the Chiefs’ ‘disappointing’ performances, the quarterback has won back plenty of fans after his latest touching gesture with a young fan.
During one of the team’s more convincing performances against the Cincinnati Bengals – they won 17-25 – Mahomes was spotted sharing an adorable exchange with a young Chiefs fan who was waiting for him on the sideline before the break.

As evidenced in the video, which was published by the team’s official account on X (formerly Twitter), Mahomes can be seen stopping to greet the youngster as he made his way back to the locker room.
After exchanging a few words, the quarterback gave the kid a big hug before following his teammates into the dressing room.
The comments section of the post was filled with replies from admiring fans. “Patrick Mahomes is such a gift to Kansas City,” wrote one. “He’s the best,” said another.
